Biography
Dr. Mraz's research focuses on democratic theory. He received his PhD in philosophy from Central European University in 2016. In his dissertation, he offers a systematic defense of the universality and equality of the franchise against contemporary challenges based on competence- and capacity-related considerations. Dr. Mraz has taught several undergraduate and graduate level courses in political theory, moral philosophy and the philosophy of art. In his current research, he explores the proper site and scope of competence-requirements within representative liberal democracies, with particular interest in competence-based restrictions on the right to stand for elections.
