Biography
Elissa Helms is currently an associate Professor in the department of Gender Studies, Central European University, Hungary. She completed BA, International Relations, Bucknell University, USA, 1991, MA, Cultural Anthropology, University of Pittsburgh, USA, 1998 and Ph.D., Cultural Anthropology, University of Pittsburgh, USA, 2003.
Research Interest
Gender and Nationalism, Ethnicity; Gender and ethnic violence; NGOs and social/political activism; Gender in Muslim societies; Ethnography of post-conflict and post-socialist societies; borders, migration, and European identity.
