Biography
Borja CORCÓSTEGUI is the president of ESASO and he is the founder and medical director of IMO, leads the ranking of specialists in ophthalmology with the best reputation in Spain, according to the first Healthcare Reputation Monitor (MRS in Spanish), a study which was presented today, ranking the top hospitals, hospital services and healthcare professionals by specialty, based on interviews with 2,400 physicians, nurses, patients and specialist journalists as well as on 186 objective indicators of quality and healthcare performance. Along with Dr Corcóstegui, it also includes his fellow retinologists at IMO, Dr. José García-Arumí (fourth) and Dr. Carlos Mateo, (tenth). Furthermore, with respect to other specialties, the study highlights Valentín Fuster (Cardiology), Enrique Moreno (General Surgery), Ana Lluch (Medical Oncology), Pedro Guillen (Trauma) and Eduard Vieta (Psychiatry), among other recognised professionals, up to a total of 14.
