Biography
Szabo Attila is working as an Independent consultant as well as a professor at Eötvös Loránd University. He had completed his PhD at Université de Montréal in Canada in 1993. Subsequently, he was a post-doctoral fellow at Concordia University in Montreal and then at the Hungarian University of Physical Education (1995-1996). From 1997, he worked as Senior Lecturer and then (from 2001) as Reader at Nottingham Trent University in the UK. From 2007, he is at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest. He started his work as Chief Scientific Staff (2007-2009), then after obtaining his Habilitated Doctor (dr. habil.) degree from ELTE, His research is in the area of Health Psychology, specifically the effects of exercise on mental health, and the power of the adopted thoughts, among others the placebo and nocebo effects in human behaviour. He teachs Psychology and Research methods courses.
