Dr. Katalin Barabássy

Biography

I was born in Marosvásárhely in 1953 and I have been studying here too. I got a dental degree here. By seeing my mother's dental work, I have been in love with this career since my childhood, and I have never been questioned what I will be when I am large. As a dentist I started in Transylvania and then moved to Hungary with my family in 1986. I did a special examination of the tooth and mouth diseases and worked at the Tétényi Clinical Hospital. In 1990, was awarded a dental office in Cologne, where I got acquainted with the German healthcare system, the organization of private practice, insurance companies, administration, working methods and morale. Here, I liked the aesthetic dentistry and the way it was called "artistic dentistry". After two years I came home from Germany and started my private practice, working at one of the first private clinics in Buda, where I was looking for colleagues in English and French. At that time, the conditions had already been set up for me to continue my work on the aesthetic dentistry of the age, to complete the subject-related courses, and now aesthetic dentistry can dominate my activity, in conservative dentistry as in dentistry. In 2006, Dental World brought a new change, here I heard Mr. Gáspár Teacher's lecture on lasers and I immediately decided to integrate them into my work. Soon I could go to the Gáspár Medical Center (GMC) team and work for 10 years. In Hungary, I got the Laser Dentist qualification. It is important for me and students, as well as for my colleagues to continue training, so I joined the medical training courses, residency training, and assistant training courses that I really enjoy. On the dental application of soft lasers, on the topic of Antimicrobial Photo Dynamic Therapy (APDT), I regularly hold congressional lectures, theoretical and practical, university-accredited training courses. As a co-author I participated in the writing of the Implantindex book, and our professional articles have appeared in this topic on Dental News, Implantology, and Lasers in Dentistry journals.
