Biography
Dr. CSc András Horváth is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Chemistry at Szechenyi Istvan University, Hungary. Digital imaging plays an increasingly important role in applications, in industrial, medical and scientific research and development. This is due to the explosive spread of affordable photo capture equipment and sophisticated processing of images. Impeccable methods of image processing have evolved over the last decades, but there is much to be expected to be done by supplementing them with optical modeling of the underlying problem. By simulating the formation of the image, more precise methods can be used to separate the different areas, based on color information, to determine the physical properties of the surface. Combining photometric knowledge and classical image processing techniques also promises novel methods, applications, and refinement of the old.
Research Interest
Physical optics, Digital imaging, Computer modeling of physical systems.
