Biography
Our group has been interested in molecular genetic aspects of breast cancer. We are in the process of developing a tumour tissue bank for genetic mapping purposes. We have been working on Claudin expression in invasive and in situ breast carcinomas, as well as on Her2/neu expression; in the latter case with special emphasis on clinical aspects. The other main field is clinical pathology of screen detected breast lesions. There is a special opportunity in our department: a telepathology consultation system is available. We participate in a European project aiming at building a database (images and clinical-pathological records) of typical or rare breast tumours, both for teaching and self-assessement purposes.
