Irmelin Hovland-hegg

Biography

Irmelin Hovland-Hegg is working as Counselor, Psychiatric Nurse at Therapion Consulting - Therapion.com. She has been working in psychiatry since 2001, first in a rehabilitation in-patient unit (psychosis), and later at a general psychiatric out-patient clinic. While working in the rehabilitation unit, she also functioned as a team coordinator. In 2009 she was co-researcher and co author in a milieu therapy project "Når rammene løses opp". This was a cooperative research project with the rehab in patient unit and Vestfold University College. From 2010 her focus shifted to a general psychiatric out patient clinic, where she mainly worked with individual consultations and in close cooperation with psychiatrists, psychologists, primary and secondary health care providers and local welfare services related to each patient, and where her main interest were on bipolar disorder. During holidays she worked as a substitute at Ambulant Akutteam (Crisis Resolution Team). The team (psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses) provide assessment and home treatment/follow up within 24 hours for patients suffering acute psychosis,suicidality and other conditions.
