Paul Shanahan

Biography

A dedicated HR & Change Leader with broad experience across operational activities in Europe and the US. Particular passion for strategic HR, organization development and leadership coaching. Began career with Bausch & Lomb working in a range of manufacturing operations. Promoted to a Training & Development leadership role to build the function for a facility of 500 people. Moved into HR leadership role for large timber processing facility start up in 1995. Created an HR function based on a direct employee relations model and recruited 200 people to operate the facility. Continued HR leadership experience with Diageo successfully negotiating a major change program over a 2 year period. Joined Genzyme in 2001 playing a lead role in the start up of a successful Biopharma facility in Ireland. Promoted to a European role in 2009 and following an integration with Sanofi moved to Boston to take up a global HR role in 2012. In August 2014 moved back to Europe to take on a leadership role in the newly formed Sanofi Biologics platform - working across Business HR, Organisation Development, Communications & Change.
