Biography

After obtaining my M.Phil. in wildlife biology from Aligarh Mulsim University, Aligarh, I worked extensively on the conservation of the fauna of the Ganges and Brahmaputra flood plains. In 1993, joined the WII faculty and subsequently undertook training in geographical information systems (GIS) and remote sensing at Colorado State University, Fort Collins (U.S.A.). I was a visiting fellow of University College, London (U.K.) and Natural Resource Ecology Unit, C.S.U. (U.S.A.). I am currently involved with projects dealing with biodiversity assessment at the landscape and species levels and studying habitat use patterns using remote sensing and GIS.
