Biography
Dr. R.M. Agarwal (born on September 20, 1952) obtained his M.Phil (1974) and Ph.D. (1980) from Meerut University, Meerut (Presently known as CCS University, Meerut) is a fellow of Indian Botanical Society (FBS) and Indian Society for Plant Physiology (FISPP). Dr. Agarwal is Professor in School of Studies in Botany, Jiwaji University and is Coordinator School of Studies in Microbiology. Prof R M Agarwal has been recipient of UGC Visiting Associateship (1994) and Summer Fellowship 2003 of Indian Academy of Sciences, Banglore.
Research Interest
Dr. Agarwal has published 28 research papers in National and International Journals and has participated and presented papers in many National and International seminars/symposia including XV International Botanical Congress held at Yokahoma,Japan (August 20 to September 03, 1993). Prof Agarwal has five students successfully awarded with Ph.D. degree under his supervision and over half a dozen students with M.Phil degree. Prof. Agarwal has delivered invited talks/lectures in National Conferences/Seminars/Refresher courses and has organized a couple of Seminars/Workshops as organizing secretary/convenor. Prof. Agarwal has reviewed manuscripts for a number of Indian Journals. His major area of research is Stress Physiology focussing mainly on role of potassium under water stress conditions and recently analyzing the ecophysiology of a wetland.
