Biography
Dr. S.N.Mohapatra (born June 1964), obtained his B.Sc. with Honours in Geology (first class first) from Ranchi University in 1984. Subsequently he completed his M.Sc. in Geology in 1987 (first in merit), MSc. Tech in Mineral Exploration in 1988 (first in merit), M.Phil in Geology (1990) and Ph.D. (1998) from Vikram Univ Ujjain, Madhhya Pradesh.
Research Interest
His current research is focused on e nvironmental impact of open - cast coal mining , land r esource s e valuation, changing urban environment, land degradation mapping and characterization, landslid e hazard zonation , wa ter resource assessment studies , derivation of land surface phenology using time series satellite data and climate change studies etc. He has complet ed research projects funded by UGC and M.P Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal.
