Biography
ArunBarik has more than 23 years of total work experience in the field of Alcobev Manufacturing Operations in the liquor industry starting at Shaw Wallace & Co, BDA Ltd, Seagram – PernodRicards India & Mason & Summers Alcobev. Prior to joining ABD, Arun was heading the business operation at Mason & Summers Alcobev Pvt Ltd for last two years where he initially joined as Vice President manufacturing. The position was responsible to steer the business of M&S own brands – a locally bottled Single Malt – Glen Drummond and other Admix IMFL portfolio and Mohan Meakin brands distribution in North and East region. As a part of founding team and head of Manufacturing at M&S, Arun was instrumental to strategize the international collaboration to introduce the first ever locally bottled Single Malt – Glen Drummond in three variants along with other Admix portfolio. Before Mason & Summers, Arun served with Seagram – PernodRicard for 9 years in the manufacturing function. He joined the Seagram founding team in 1994 as a Manufacturing Manager and started the first manufacturing set up at Duarala. In this role he was a part of the international product development team to develop Blenders Pride, Royal Stag, Oaken Glow and Imperial Blue along with setting the standards for the international brands role out like Hundred Piper, Passport, Something Special Scotch and Seagram Extra Dry Gin. Subsequently he moved to steer the second project to establish an integrated state of the art Grain Distillery-Blending & Bottling-R &D Centre in 1998 and successfully ran the operation till 2003. He also played a role to introduce integrated risk management by preparing the project to become certification worthy under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHAS 18000 & HACCP in collaboration with Zurich Risk Engineering and finally certified under four standards. As a General Manager manufacturing he was also responsible for the Technology support to all India operation and direct responsibility of the regional operation of West. Prior to Seagram, he worked with BDA Ltd for little over one year as Factory Manager at Tracstar, Bangalore responsible for the factory operation. Arun joined SW Liquor Division II as a trainee Blender in 1988 and within a short period rose to head the all India assignment of Blending, Quality, Project and Product Development. He worked in SW for five years with Brands such as Officers Choice, Thousand Guineas, Calypso Rum, Class Whisky, and Mc Shaw Brandy. Arun is a B.Sc from Utkal University.
