Mr. Bikram Basu

Biography

Bikram has more than 22 years of experience in the alcohol beverage space. As Chief Operating Officer of Allied Blenders & Distillers, he carries the responsibility of Business Strategy and Marketing. Prior to joining ABD, Bikram spent significant time with Pernod Ricard India- formerly Seagram- in building blockbuster brands like Royal Stag, Blenders Pride and Imperial Blue. He was Vice President, Marketing from 2007-14, and concurrently a member of the Executive & Management Committees, a Director at Seagram Distilleries, and a member of the Global Creativity & Luxury team. He established the International brands portfolio comprising Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet, Absolut, 100 Pipers, Jameson, Ballantine’s and Jacobs Creek as frontrunners in India. Till date, Bikram is the only person to have led teams in winning the Pernod Ricard Global Marketing Best Practise Award, and the externally judged Scalpel Award for Creativity. From the XLRI batch of 1994, Bikram joined McDowell & Co. Ltd-United Spirits as Management Trainee. He was Group Product Manager for the flagship brands of No.1 McDowell’s Whisky, Brandy and Rum and subsequently moved as Regional Sales Manager- North. He joined Seagram India in 2000, and after a successful 14 years joined Allied Blenders & Distillers in early 2015. He holds an honours degree in Bachelor of Commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. Bikram’s interests include contemporary design and art, photography, food and travel.
