Biography
Kishore Rajaram Chhabria, Chairman of Allied Blenders and Distillers Pvt. Ltd., is one of the most successful and visionary entrepreneurs in the liquor industry. Mr. Chhabria, with over 25 years of experience in the industry, currently owns and controls ABD. Between 1987 and 1992, Mr. Chhabria worked with Shaw Wallace & Co. Ltd., where he transformed the company into a powerhouse in the spirit industry by increasing the market share for its existing brands and adding new brands to its portfolio. During this period, Mr. Chhabria also served as director or advisor in various major companies like Dunlop India Ltd., Mather & Platt Ltd., Hindustan Dorr Oliver Ltd., Gordon Woodroffe Ltd., etc. Prior to joining Shaw Wallace, Mr. Chhabria lived and worked in Dubai and London. Since April 1992, Mr. Chhabria has been the Chairman of BDA Ltd., the liquor business of which company was de-merged into ABD during 2007. Between 1995 and 2005, Mr. Chhabria also served as Executive Vice Chairman of Herbertsons Ltd., a leading liquor company that has since been merged with United Spirits Limited.
