Biography

Ritesh Shah is a Corporate Secretarial & Legal professional with over 15 years of experience in providing legal and corporate secretarial counsel for companies in garments / textiles, alcoholic beverages industries as well as non-banking financial / investment holding companies.He joins us from United Breweries (Holdings) Limited, where he was designated GM Legal. At UB, he was handling the complex pan India litigation matters before Supreme Court, Division / Single bench of High Courts, Trial Courts, Magistrate Courts, DRT, DRAT Arbitration, Mediation Centre etc., in close co-ordination with Sr. Advocates. In addition to this he was also designated as the Company Secretary & compliance officer of Mc Dowell Holdings Limited. Prior to this, he was with United Spirits Limited for 7 years as Dy. General Manager – Secretarial & Corporate Legal. He was also associated with Shaw Wallace Distilleries Limited-Mumbai where he significantly contributed towards due diligence for hiving off beer and liquor businesses of Shaw Wallace & Co. Ltd. to SAB Miller, SA and UB Group, India. Ritesh started his career in 1999 where he worked with Haria Exports Limited and then joined Firestorm Finance & Trading Private Limited, Mumbai. He has done his B.Com from Mumbai University in 1995, A.C.S. from Institute of Company Secretaries of India, New Delhi, and LL.B from Mumbai University in 2001. He has also successfully completed the certificate course conducted by Institute of Intellectual Property Studies, Mumbai, on Intellectual Property Rights in 2004.
