Biography

Mr. U. K. Ganguli, Vice Chairman of Allied Blenders and Distillers Pvt. Ltd., is a professionally qualified chartered accountant with more than 40 years of diverse professional experience. He has lived and worked in London, Jamaica, Malta and Nigeria besides India. While living abroad, Mr. Ganguli successfully worked as Managing Director / CEO for companies involved in different industries like Newspaper, Real Estate Development, FMCG products, Beer, etc., and created some very successful brands. Red Stripe beer, which was launched by Mr. Ganguli while in London, has since emerged as one of the largest selling packaged beer brands in UK. After returning back to India in 1986, Mr. Ganguli worked as CEO of Calcutta Chemical Ltd., one of the most respected companies dealing in personal products. He next worked for Shaw Wallace up to 1992, a period during which he worked at different times as Head of their Consumer Product Division, Head of their Liquor Division and Head of their Beer division. After having served BDA (now ABD) since 1992 initially as Managing Director and thereafter as Vice Chairman, Mr.Ganguli continues to serve the company as Vice Chairman.
