Biography
"Mr. S. Sriram, currently the Vice President (Finance) & Company Secretary, Tata Industries Ltd, is a Chartered Management Accountant (UK), Cost Accountant & Company Secretary with more than 27 years post qualification experience in reputed Companies in India and abroad. He has the experience of leading the Finance function in various areas such as Corporate Finance & Treasury, Consolidation of Accounts, MIS, Financial planning and Taxation. He has played a strategic role in Mergers & Acquisitions, Divestment/Stake sale, Private equity investment transactions, Legal Documentation, Contracts & Commercial negotiations, and Initial Public Offering (IPO). In his present role as Vice President – Finance & Company Secretary of Tata Industries Ltd., based at Mumbai Head Office, he is responsible for the Finance, Legal and Secretarial functions of the Company. He is also involved on strategy for new businesses/subsidiaries and manage existing portfolio of investments. Additionally, he is also the Ethics Counselor of Tata Industries Ltd. Mr Sriram is on the boards of 2 other Tata companies – Tata Industrial Services (TISL) and Apex Investments (Mauritius) Holding Pvt Ltd. His previous assignment was as Vice President – Corporate Finance, Treasury, Taxation and Planning at Viom Networks Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata Teleservices Ltd, where his role was to set up the Corporate Finance and Financial Planning in the combined rapidly growing entity and raise funding of more than US$ 2 billion, apart from playing a strategic role in private equity transactions and IPO of the company. Prior to joining Viom on group transfer, he worked with Tata Teleservices Ltd., heading Treasury, Accounting, Taxation and Transaction structuring and assisted the company on 2 major investment transactions besides working as CFO of the Tower subsidiary before the merger. Mr Sriram started his career with the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd in 1987 and his role in subsequent assignments till he joined the Tata Group in 2004, included apart from Finance, setting up systems & processes, SAP implementation and M&A. He has a keen interest in economics and corporate governance and gives occasional lectures in those areas. His other interests are social work, running and reading."
