Biography
His lab seeks to identify genes underlying QTLs with significant impact on wheat and soybean quality, understand the mechanism by which they function and using this knowledge, to facilitate their effective deployment into newer breeding varieties through combination of traditional and modern breeding methods.
Research Interest
The main research interests are the development of improved wheat and soybean varieties, using biochemical and molecular techniques. Use of various protein/DNA based markers in wheat and soybean for improvement of various traits such as protein content, yellow pigment content, gluten strength and disease resistance in wheat and removal of trypsin inhibitor to improve nutritional quality of soybean.
