Biography
Since 1997 engaged in palynological research and its application in geosciences particularly focusing on climate and environmental changes and obtained a Ph.D. of University of Pune in 2005 for contribution to the Coastal deposits of Maharashtra with Fellowship from CSIR. Research Associate of CSIR and DST Fast Track enabled to continue her research with special focus on Mangrove study. CSIR – SRA ship dealt with utility of cyanobacteria as potential biomarkers for the evolution of the wetlands in the recent past since the study has significance in understanding the changing pattern of aquifers. Currently working on the Late Holocene vegetation, climate dynamics and human – environment interaction along Konkan coast, India under DST – Women Scientist Scheme.
Research Interest
Palynology, Palaeoecology and Palaeoclimate.
