Amrita Bihani

Biography

Amrita Bihani has been working as a Senior Lecturer since 2010 at Amrut Mody School of Management, Ahmedabad University. With a Masters degree in Marketing Management and Human Resource Management, Amrita has a work experience of over ten years in which the initial six years were spent in the Financial Sector. Her corporate association has been with the likes of ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and TATA-AIG General Insurance Co. Ltd. Her career in the financial sector started with that of a Relationship Officer to Home Loan clients and in the due of six years progressed to that of the Team Manager where she led a team of young managers, handling customer investment portfolios, private equity investments and other financial products. With a keen interest in academics, she started teaching Strategic Human Resources Management at Globsyn Business School alongwith her corporate role. This triggered further interest in the field of academics, and she thus plunged into the opportunity of becoming a lecturer the newly constituted Ahmedabad University in the year 2010. Her Alma mater B. K. Majumdar Institute of Business Administration was where she started her academic career and there she has been teaching subjects like Behavioral Skills, Organization Behavior, HRM, Strategic HRM, International HRM, Organization Development, Social Change Management and Human Resource Development. Her key strength has been her capacity to bring in practical examples from her own corporate experience to the class, communication skills and an effective team member at the workplace. She has been handling the Placements wing for the past 4 years. Her research interests include areas of Talent management, Employee Engagement, and Change Management. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from CEPT University where her minor thesis titled ‘A Study of Acceptance of Social Media as a Tool towards Recruitment’ has already been submitted. Her major thesis titled as 'A Study of Talent Management Practices in the Pharmaceutical Sector in India' is at the Thesis Writing stage as of now. She already has 1 national and couple of international publications to her research background.
