Biography
Pratishtha Pandya's teaching and research interests explore the relations between literature, culture, education and society, especially as they unfold in contemporary India. At present she is working on her doctoral research on "Global challenges, National Responses and the question of English and Liberal Educatioin in Gujarat". With a background in English Literature, she is currently interested in the space and role of Humanities within higher education in Gujarat. Her M.Phil. research from M.S. University Baroda focused on the Cultural Politics of English Studies in Nineteenth Century Gujarat. A faculty member in the communication area at Amrut Modi School of Management of Ahmedabad University, she has passed the UGC National Eligibility Test in English (2000). She is also a poet, who writes, translates, and has published in Etad, Kavita, Shabdasrishti and Indian Literature. She has been the receipient of Sahitya Akademi's travel grant for the year 2017-18.
