Biography
Dr. Shilpa Daithota Bhat is Assistant Professor in Ahmedabad University, Gujarat, India. Her areas of interest are South Asian Literature, Diaspora and Postcolonial theories, Canadian Studies and Children’s Literature. She was a Visiting Professor to McGill University, Montreal (2017) and York University, Canada (2015). She visited University of Toronto (Commonwealth Fellowship), University of Western Ontario, Korea University (PANCS Grant) for research and conferences. All her research work are related to South Asian Narratives (Postcolonial theory, Diaspora and Cultural Studies); Canadian Studies, and World Literature. She is the author of Indians in Victorian Children’s Narratives: Animalizing the 'Native', 1830-1930 (Lexington, Rowman and Littlefield, US, 2017). Her co-edited book Women Writers of the South Asian Diaspora: Interpreting Gender, Texts and Contexts is forthcoming with Rawat Publishers, Jaipur.
