Biography
Dr. Khan joined as lecturer in the Department of Wildlife Sciences in 1989. During last 23 years of his service, he has meaningfully contributed in the development of the department and its academic programmes. He has been successful in obtaining substantial amount of grant from UGC during his tenure as Chairman of the Department. He is actively engaged in teaching at Post Graduate level and has added new courses in M.Sc. curriculum. He has developed and introduced a certificate course in the department on application of remote sensing and GIS. Dr. Khan has implemented 12 research projects in the capacity of Co-Principal and Principal Investigator. He is currently on the panel of two scientific journals as a reviewer. He has served as member on several important committees constituted by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India and WWF-India. He has served as consultant of "Teri" to evaluate World Bank's aided Forestry Project of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. He has also served as Honorary Additional Director, Centre for Promotion of Science, A.M.U.
