Biography

Dr. Aijaz Ahmed Khan did his MBBS and MS (Anatomy) from KGMC, Lucknow and PhD from AIIMS, New Delhi. He joined AMU as Lecturer in 1990 and was promoted to Reader and Professor in 1998 and 2006 respectively. He has overseas teaching experience of 05 years in USM, Malaysia and CHS, KSA. He takes keen interest in teaching neuroanatomy and microscopic anatomy and has co-authored four books on gross and microscopic anatomy and five book chapters on different interesting medical topics. He has supervised over dozen of MS/MD/PhD theses and has published more than hundred research papers. His research works in the field of neuroscience have been published in reputed international journals like - Cells Tissues and Organs; Developmental neuroscience and International journal of neuroscience. His interdisciplinary collaborative research works have also been published many reputed international journals like Molecular Medicine; Nanomedicine; PLoS ONE; International J of Nanomedicine; Int. J Applied Biology & Pharmaceutical Technology; Experimental & Toxicologic Pathology; Applied Microbiology & Biotechnology, Biochimie etc. His current research interest includes: effects of experimental hyperglycemia on nervous system in general and wound healing in conjunction with vitamin E supplement and experimental study on the application of polymer nanocomposite materials in healing of bone defects.
