Biography

Farhat Nasim Siddiquie did M.Phil and Ph.D in (Economic Geology) on Manganese ores of Viskhapatnam (A.P.). I have joined Geology Deptt. In the year 1988 as lecturer. At present three scholars are working under my supervision for Ph.D. All the three scholars are working on different topics related to geochemistry of Manganese ores of Viskhapatnam (A.P.), Balaghat Distt (M.P.) and in Sausar belt, Central India. I am Co.P.I of U.P.C.S.T sponsored project entitled "Integrated hydrological studies in parts of Jhansi district, U.P. using remote sensing/G.I.S. techniques and geochemical analysis". I made myself aware of the recent methods in oceanographic studies, including Bathymetric surveys, and collection of sediments core and deployment of the long mooring systems of sediment traps in Central Arabian Sea, by attending ORV Sagar Kanya cruise during 4-19th November, 1987. The cruise was organized under the INDO-GERMAN (FRG) collaboration programme. I have been credited with the first ever finding of the presence of green algae lepocinclis in India, in the history of research on types of algae. On the basis of these observations, I have modified the geological succession of the Garividi area of Srikakulam district (A.P.). At present I am teaching post graduate classes of Economic geology (Advance ore geology, ore geology and Mining Geology) and under graduate classes of Metamorphic petrology and economic geology (Earth processes and Resources).
