Biography
I did my B.Sc (Hons) and M. Sc from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and obtained my PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi under the supervision of Prof. Ram Ramaswamy. The main area of my research is the study of systems under the effect of parametric modulation - periodic, quasiperiodic, chaotic, as well as stochastic forcing that may exhibit many interesting phenomena and different dynamical properties. I am interested in the study of driven dynamical systems that leads to the phenomenon of Generalized synchronization (GS). GS occurs in cases where a response is coupled to the output of the drive and for sufficiently strong coupling the output of the response is uniquely defined by the drive. In a number of natural settings, the noise cannot be removed and therefore, coupling of intrinsically noisy dynamical systems is of particular interest. Therefore, the study of GS in case of stochastic systems is another important aspect that I am interested in. Presently, I am interested in the study of tripartite networks, where we consider two nodes on a network that are unidirectionally coupled and the study of synchronization in presence of noise having different colors. It is expected that the color of the noise is going to play an important role in the synchronization. The other part of my research focuses on understanding the interaction of the bacteria with the host cells and their control mechanisms. By making use of the model equations of the pathogen namely, the E. Coli, one can study the interaction at single cell level. These equations are a good model to describe real systems. However, in order to model a natural system one has to consider the effect of fluctuations and the influence of environment that could be incorporated by some random process or noise. Since the system under consideration is essentially a drive response system, therefore, one can apply the results obtained in the study of generalized synchronization to these more realistic cases.
