Biography
Dr. Rahat Hasan is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. He did his Ph.D. in Political Science from AMU. The topic of his Doctorial thesis was 'American Think Tanks and the Formulation of US Foreign Policy since World War II'. He has also cleared UGC - National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturership. Prior to joining AMU, he worked as Assistant Professor in Political Science at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANNU), Hyderabad. He has also been engaged in Post-doctoral research in the Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia (New Delhi), Research Officer at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi and done a one year Lok Sabha Internship conducted by Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Tranining (BPST), Lok Sabha Secretariat. His main areas of research interest are US Domestic Policy and Foreign Policy towards South and West Asia; Politics of South Asia and West Asia; International Relations; Indian Government & Politics; Parliamentary Affairs; Issues of Minority in India. He has published a book on 'Foreign Policy and Strategic Issues: Think Tanks in US and South Asia' and contributed number of research papers in edited volume and academic journals. He also regularly presents paper in national and international conferences/ seminars.
