Biography
Prof. (Dr.) M. Salim Beg obtained his B.Sc. Engg. (Hons) from AMU, Aligarh and Master of Engg. in Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was awarded prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship for doing research at Loughborough University, England from where he obtained his Ph.D. for research in the area of Digital Communications over Mobile Channels. His academic interests lie in areas of Mobile Communications & Computing, Wireless networks, Multimedia Communications, Computer Networks and Consumer Electronics. He has supervised more than 45 post-graduate theses (including doctoral theses) to successful completion. He has more than 180 research publications in journals and conferences of repute. This includes 9 papers in IEEE Transactions (USA). A lot of his recent research has been related to multimedia data transmission over mobile links & wireless networks. He has delivered a large number of short courses and pre-conference tutorials in several countries including Malaysia, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia for industries as well as academics. He has been on the technical program committee of several international conferences. He has chaired a number of sessions at several international conferences. He has delivered invited lectures at several places including ITI at Bangalore, TCIL, C-DAC, and DRDO at New Delhi.
