Biography

Dr. Mohd Khalid is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry, AMU Aligarh since February 2014. He completed his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2001, 2003 and 2009, respectively. His research work falls in the area of Inorganic Chemistry. He is actively involved in the synthesis and X-ray crystallographic investigations of novel polynuclear coordination compounds having supramolecular metal organic frameworks (MOFs) consolidated via covalent or non-covalent (i.e., H-bonding and/or pi-pi interactions) bonding. Currently, engaged in the discovery and unsual structural topologies of 1D (long chain), 2D (sheet) or 3D (cage). These compounds have been characterized by modern spectroscopic techniques viz. FAB-MS, FTIR, UV-Visible, EPR, 1H, 13C & 119Sn NMR etc. 57Fe- & 119Sn-Mossbauer and single crystal X-ray crystallography. The compounds have also been widely exploited for their enzymatic mimics like antimicrobial and SOD activity. He has published 27 papers in international journals of repute like, Dalton Trans (RSC), J. Organometal. Chem., Eur J. Med. Chem., J. Mol. Structure., J. Photochem. Photobiology:B , J. Chem. Crystallography , X-ray Structure Analysis Online , Spectrochim. Acta Part A etc.
