Biography
With the extensive training in Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, I initiated teaching and research in Fishery Science and Aquaculture Nutrition. My pioneering research contribution is the dynamics of protein turnover, nutritional efficacy of agricultural by-products, feasibility of replacing fishmeal, quantitative amino acid requirements of Indian cultivable fishes. Have published more than 70 research papers in the journals of international repute such as Aquaculture (Elsevier), Aquaculture Research, Aquaculture Nutrition, Journal of the World Aquaculture Society Journal of Applied Ichthyology (Willey-Blackwell), Journal of Applied Aquaculture (Taylor & Francis), Fish Physiology and Biochemistry, Aquaculture International (Springer) and British Journal of Nutrition (CABI). Have been listed among 15 selected eminent scientists from JNU, BHU, DU, AMU on the basis of citation index (Mukherjee, B. 2008 LIBRES 18: 1, 1-14) which is an ample testimony for my outstanding contribution to the existing knowledge.
