Biography
Architect Nawab Ahmad is the senior most Architect serving at A.M.U. Aligarh since 1986 and founding Chairman of the department of Architecture. Passing with regional distinctions at High School and Intermediate from U.P. Board, did B.Sc ( Physics Hons ) from Meerut University in 1975 and then graduated in B.Arch from Roorkee University in 1979-80. After three and half years rigorous service with private reputed architectural firms at Delhi and Ghaziabad, did his M.U.R.P. ( Master of Urban & Rural Planning ) again from Roorkee University ( Now recognized as I.I.T. Roorkee ) in 1986. Through selected at CIDCO Bombay and U.P. Town Planning department as Architect-planner, joined at A.M.U. in March 1986 when personally invited by A.M.U. authorities to establish architectural education at A.M.U. starting with Diploma and then B.Arch. Course at Z.H. College of Engg. & Tech. in 1993 He aspires starting of PG and Ph.D courses at the department. He established MODROB computer Lab in 2004-05 and his recording of famous buildings of Islamic Architecture at Aligarh since 1995 was highly appreciated by the U.G.C. and hence sanctioned Centre(of excellence) of Islamic Architecture at this department during XI Plan. He emphasized the role of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in architectural development of main campus through his one year study on Academic pursuit. He has also published several research papers in A+D, J.I.I.A and regional architectural meets/conferences as well as attended many technical course and delivered lectures at various workshops etc. He is registered as Ph.D scholar at A.M.U. to study Energy conservation concepts in traditional buildings at Aligarh and the region.
