Biography
Professor Abdul Rauf was awarded Junior and Senior Research fellowship and Research Associate ship of CSIR, New Delhi. His teaching interest is organic chemistry, reaction mechanism, and disconnection approach in organic synthesis, lipid chemistry. Prof. Rauf's topic of research interest are: (i) Synthesis of oleo chemicals and heterocyclic compounds (ii) Microbial screening of fatty acid derivatives (iii) Fatty acids and triacylglycerols analysis of seed oils and (iv) Detection of pork fat in processed foods. He has published more than 86 papers in the journal of international repute such as Phytochemistry, European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Bioorganic Medicinal Chemistry Letters, Industrial Crops and Products, Medicinal Chemistry Research, Chemistry of Natural Products, ARKIVOC, Eur. J. Lipid Sci. and Technol., J. Am. Oil Chemists' Soc., Chinese J. Chemistry, Indian J. Chem. (B) etc. He has also published one book and one book chapter. He is life member of number of scientific societies such as AOCS, OTAI, CRSI, ICC, ICS, and ISTE.
