Biography
Dr.Firoz Mohammad was born at Hardoi in India. He got Ph.D. degree on"Mineral Nutritional Studies on Yield and Quality of Mustard" in 1984.He is involved in research and teaching since 1980.He has explored nutrient and growth hormone application strategies for better yield and quality of various crops including those of commercial as well as medicinal importance.He is also working on their physiological and biochemical characterization,particularly nitrate reductase and ATP-sulphurylase in respect of salt tolerance of rapeseed-mustard genotypes. He was awarded D.Sc.degree in 2001 for his thesis on Mineral Nutrition of Common Alliums - 'A Physiomorphological Study'.He has published about sixty research papers in reputed national and International journals.These include the Journal of Indian Botanical Society,the Indian Journal of Plant Physiology,Turkish Journal of Biology,Tests of Agrochemicals and Cultivars,Phytosynthetica,Electronic Journal of Environmental Agricultural and Food Chemistry,HamdardMedicus,World Journal of Agricultural Sciences,ActaAgriculturaeScandinavica,SectionB:Plant Soil Science,Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science,Journal of Plant Nutrition,Journal of Plant Interactions,International Journal of Plant Developmental Biology,Acta Physiologiae Plantarum,Protoplasma,Plant Stress,Functional Plant Science and Biotechnology,Agricultural Sciences in China,Journal of Agrobiology,Crop Physiology and Molecular Biology of Plants among others. He has been supervising the research work of Ph.D. students in the various fields of Plant Physiology.
