Prof. Saghir Ahmad Ansari

Biography

Dr. Saghir Ahmad Ansari became Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, A.M.U. Aligarh on 09-10-1986. On 23rd January 1997, he was appointed as Reader in the Department of Agricultural Economics & Business Management (AEBM), Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, A. M. U. Aligarh and redesignated as Associate Professor on 01-01-2006. Dr. Ansari has been promoted as Professor on 16th May 2006. From September 11, 2001 to August 31, 2004, Dr. Ansari served as Professor of Economics, under United Nations Development Programme at Ethiopian Civil Service College (now Ethiopian Civil Service University), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has thrice been Chairman of the Dept. of AEBM from 08-09-2000 to 10-09 2001, from 04-09 2004 to 03-09-2007 and from 04-09- 2013 to 02- 05 2015. He also worked as Director, Coaching and Guidance Centre, A.M.U. Aligarh from 15-09-2000 to 01-09-2001. His main area of interest is Economic Theory, International Trade and Banking Finance. Dr. Ansari published a number of research papers in refereed journals of national and international repute which includes Foreign Trade Review, Journal of Social and Economic Development, Asian Profile, and Asian Economic Review, etc. He has attended a number of national and international conferences and also chaired technical sessions.
