Biography
I did my M.Sc. in 1980 from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, during this course I was awarded merit scholarship. Subsequently, I joined research and completed M. Phil. in 1982 and Ph. D. in 1984 under the supervision of Professor A.H. Khan. Later I joined as an economic analyst in the scheme sponsored by State Bank of India on IRDP in the department of Economics, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh from March 1985-Jan 1987. Then I worked as a Lecturer in the department of Statistics, Panjab University, Chandigarh from 1987-89, during my stay I also supervised a student for his M. Phil. programme. Since 1990 I am serving the department of Statistics and Operations Research, Aligarh Muslim University in different capacities as Pool Officer, Part-time lecturer, lecturer besides, teaching and research I have also been assisting the seniors in the day to day administration of the departmental affairs. My area of research is Order Statistics, Records and Generalized Order Statistics. I have got published about 30 research papers in national and international journals. Under my supervision, two students have been awarded Ph. D. degree and five M. Phil. degree and presently four students are enrolled with me for their Ph. D. programme. I have attended 14 International/ National conferences in India and presented research papers.
