Biography
Prof. R.S. Chana, Professor of Pediatric Surgery, joined as Lecturer in Paediatric Surgery on 01.05.1986 in the Department of Surgery with brilliant educational records. Working as Professor of Pediatric Surgery in the Department since 2005, took charge of the department of Paediatric Surgery as Chairman on 09.06 2014. Possess experience of more than 32 years in undergraduate teaching and 30 years in postgraduate teaching and thesis supervisor of 32candidates of M.S. (General Surgery). Clinical interest is in the Anorectal Malformations in children. Has published 53 papers in International & National journals namely Journal of Paediatric Surgery, Pediatric Surgery International, Italian Journal of Pediatrics, Journal of Cytology. Presented 22 papers in the Conferences/Seminars/Symposia. Prof R. S. Chana as a Chairman of the Deptt. of Surgery was instrumental in separation of the departments of Pediatric Surgery, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, paving the way for starting MCh training programmes in these superspecialities.
