Biography
Dr. Saltanat Parveen has been working in the field of Limnology that includes physical, chemical and biological aspects of inland waters and understanding of causal influences, seasonal or man made in order to understand and describe how these factors impact the biodiversity, species composition, seasonal abundance and productivity of freshwaters. As a researcher, she has worked on various aspects of freshwaters, identification of fresh water algae, protozoans, rotifers, planktonic crustaceans, insects, meiobenthos and aquatic macrophytes. Dr. Parveen has expertise in collection, identification and enumeration of plankton and benthic organisms. She has successfully supervised three Ph.D. and three M.Phil. students who worked on different Limnological aspects of freshwaters of Aligarh including M.Phil. work on Wular lake, Kashmir.
