Tamkin Khan

Biography

I have more than 22 years of clinical and teaching experience. My areas of interest include emergency obstetric care, cervical cancer prevention in resource poor settings and gynaecological oncologic surgery. I am a Master Trainer for EmOC and HIV/RTI. I have published 85 papers, a book, contributed chapters to others, guided 26 theses and Iam a peer reviewer for three international journals including BMJ Case Reports.I am an active member of the FOGSI, serving as a resource person at scientific meets. I am passionate about teaching and creating a classroom environment that is non-threatening, interactive and inspires students to develop a love for life-long learning. My area of interest in medical education is the use of Medical Humanities for teaching ethics, professionalism and empathy to doctors and developing modules for the same. I believe that I am very fortunate and blessed to get the opportunity to serve as a doctor in a field catering to the underprivileged and neglected half of the society.
