Biography
Debashish Sengupta is a dual Ph.D. He completed his second doctorate (Ph.D. in Management) from ASIC, U.K. accredited Central University of Nicaragua (UCN), Nicaragua (Inter university agreement with Universidad Azteca, Mexico). He completed his previous doctorate (Ph.D. in Commerce) from M.J.P.R. University, U.P. (India). Prior to that he completed his Masters from Pondicherry University and graduation with honours from G.B.P.U.A&T. Pantnagar, India. He also holds a Certificate in ‘Social Psychology’ from Wesleyan University, US, Certificate in ‘Leadership Development’ from Japan Management Association Management Centre (JMAM, Japan) and Certificate in ‘Startup Hiring: How to Attract, Hire and Retain the Best People’. Debashish started his academic career in the year 2000 after a brief stint in the industry. He joined Alliance in 2008 and has since held several academic administrative positions. He is currently teaching in both Alliance School of Business and Alliance Ascent College, in the doctorate, Masters in International Business and MBA programs. He also holds the responsibility of Program Director at Alliance Ascent College and serves on various academic committees of the University. Debashish’s research interests converge on the disciplines of Engagement, Generation Y/Millennials, HR Strategy in Project-based Organizations. Debashish's business articles and expert comments have featured in the Business Line, The Telegraph, Outlook business, Business World, The Hindu, The Pioneer, Indian Management and other leading media publications. He is the author of the Crossword Bestseller and KPMG cited book, ‘Employee Engagement’ published by Wiley India, author of the acclaimed self-help guide ‘You Can Beat Your Stress’ by Excel books, India and the co-author of ‘Business Drama: How Shakespearean Insights Help Leaders Manage Volatile Contexts’. Debashish has also authored a well-recommended text book ‘Human Resource Management’ that is currently in its second edition. He is on the editorial board of several refereed international journal and has been an editorial reviewer for Emerald Publishing, London. He has also received several research awards including Best Paper awards and ‘Young Scientist’ award.
