Biography
Prof. Priyaranjini S. Rao teaches in the Department of Chemistry and holds a post graduate degree in Chemistry and an undergraduate degree in Science from Mangalore University. She is pursuing a doctoral degree from VTU. Prof. Priyaranjini has been associated with several projects in the area of Synthesis of conducting polymers at IISc, Bangalore. She also possesses industrial experience of more than two years at Syngene International Ltd., Bangalore. Her work focused on the synthesis and designing of drug molecules, which is vital to the pharmaceutical industry in developing generic drugs. Her current research interests include drug related chemistry to develop affordable, reliable and non-harmful drugs to the economically weaker sections of the society.
