Biography
Dr. Gopi Krishnan joined Amrita Center for Nano Sciences and Molecular Medicine in 2014. He was awarded the prestigious DST-INSPIRE Faculty Award 2014 from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India. Dr. Gopi Krishnan received his PhD from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands (2007-2011). He did his Post-doctoral research (2011-2014) at Zernike Institute of Advanced Materials, The Netherlands. He also briefly worked as a scientist with a materials science company after his postdocoral research. Dr. Gopi Krishnan is the recipient of All India Rank in GATE-2005, Ubbo Emmius Scholarship from University of Groningen (2007-2011), Transnational Access Award (2013) from European Network for Electron Microscopy, European Science Foundation (ESF) Travel Award during his PhD. He has several peer reviewed publication to his credit including in Nanoscale, Advanced Materials, and Advanced Energy Materials. His expertise lies in the synthesis of bimetallic nanoparicles with different structural motifs from gas-phase aggregation method.He hasmore than 8 years of experience in TEM/STEM (scanning/transmission electron microscopy) for characterizing various nanomaterials. Dr. Gopi Krishnan’s current research focus is on hydrogen storage materials. His specific interest is to study the in-depth mechanism for hydrogen absorption/desorption in bimetallic nanoparticles to combine the desired kinetics and thermodynamics.
