Biography
Dr. Anand K. B. joined the Amrita School of Engineering in 2010 after a long and distinguished career at the N. S. S.College of Engineering, Palakkad. Dr. Anand received his M. Tech. and Ph. D. degrees from Building Technology & Construction Management division of IIT Madras. He worked at N. S. S. College of Engineering in Palakkad, where he rose from the post of Lecturer to that of Professor. He was actively involved in projects funded by MHRD and Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Kerala. He also contributed in the BMTPC sponsored research project on “Accelerated Masonry Constructionâ€, at IIT Madras. Dr. Anand has published many international and national papers. The research paper on Interlocking Block Masonry, published in the Journal of the American Society of Civil Engineers was awarded as the best paper of 2004 by Indian Society for Construction Materials & Structures. He is also in the panel of reviewers for international journals. He has given number of invited lectures on topics related to Building Environment and Climatic Design. His areas of interest include Energy efficiency in buildings, Forensic Engineering, Resource optimization in construction. He has been an examiner for doctoral dissertations and has held crucial positions in academic bodies of various universities. He is also associated with many professional bodies. For the overall contribution to teaching profession, Dr. Anand received the Best Teacher award from University of Calicut in the academic year 2004-2005.
