Biography

Binoy V. S. has 13 years of experience as a Multimedia Designer and Academician. He was conferred with NDFA, DCA, Diploma in Photography and Advanced Diploma in Multimedia. Having worked as a designer with Breakthrough, Ernakulam, Binoy joined Amrita University in 2001 in the capacity of Animator in the Amrita Multimedia Division. In 2002, Binoy took over as a Multimedia Developer at the interactive media group of Amrita University. From 2008 onwards he started working with the Amrita School of Communication as its Media Instructor where he handles modules on Video Editing, Video Production, Camera Operation, Photography and Videography for postgraduate and undergraduate students. He is also a Visiting Faculty at the Visual Communication Department, Sree Narayana College Chengannur, Kerala. Binoy has successfully undertaken several academic project works in design and 2D animation and has also organized photography and fine arts exhibitions and camps in Kerala. His photographs were published in Times of India, Deccan Chronicle, The Hindu, Indian Express, Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi, Dinamalar Dinakaran and Dinamani, etc. Binoy has completed Certificate Courses on Photography Design titled Always Carry on Camera at the National Institute of Design, Ahmadabad, 2012, and Basic Sound Recording Techniques for TV production at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, 2012. He also done a Continuing Education Program (CEP) on Expo CD conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, 2013. Apart from teaching, he has been actively involved in several social and charitable activities. He has been acted in a weekly program, Swanthwanam telecasted by Amrita Television. Binoy has been involved in extensive relief and rehabilitation operations of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math at Nagapattinam, the worst affected Tsunami district. He has also coordinated various media related activities of this relief effort with premier television channels like BBC, CNN and Headlines Today.
