Biography

Dr. Meera Balachandran currenly serves as Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Sciences at Amrita School Engineering, Coimbatore. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Calicut University and Master’s degree in Polymer Technology from Cochin University of Science and Technology. Dr. Meera balachandran pursued her Ph. D. at Amrita Vishwa Vidyaeetham in Acrylonitrile Butadiene Copolymer (Nitrile Rubber) Nanocomposites. She has 14 years of experience in teaching and 3 years in leading chemical process industries. Dr. Meera is Principal investigator & Co-investigator for several research projects funded by various agencies such as ISRO, UGC-DAE CSR and MHRD. She has completed two projects for ISRO and one project for The Institution of Engineers (India). She is currently involved in a funded research project for UGC – DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, one project for ISRO and two projects in the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Materials and Green Technology funded by MHRD. She has to her credit several peer reviewed papers in international journals and international / national conferences. Dr. Meera serves as reviewer for Journal of Applied Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering and Science.

Research Interest

Dr. Meera’s research interests are Polymer Nanocomposites, Polymer blends and composites, Polymer Structure Property Relationship, Modelling properties of Polymers, Blends and Composites and Design of Experiments.
