Biography
Dr. T. G. Manoharan is currently working as Assistant Professor (Sr. Grade) and Chairperson, Department of Commerce and Management, Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Amritapuri. He is the member of Board of Studies for Commerce and BBA programmes and guides two PhD candidates at Amrita University in the area of Rural Public Finance and Mergers and Acquisition of Banks. Dr. T. G. Manoharan received his Ph. D. in Banking and Finance from Gandhigram Rural Institute- Deemed University, Dindigul Tamil Nadu. He has done his Masters in Commerce (M. Com.) from University of Calicut and Masters in Management (MBA Banking and Finance) from Alagappa University. He has completed M. Phil. degree from Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul Tamil Nadu in 2008. He had a distinguished career as an academician for 15 years in the field of Accounting, Taxation and Finance. He also had a five years of Administrative experience in industry. He has given invited talks in the area of Rural Development, Rural Public Finance, Taxation, Value Added Tax and Research Methodology. He has chaired sessions in national conferences at Amrita University and other educational institutions. His area of research includes Rural Public Finance, Banking and Non-Banking Financial Institutions, Taxation, Goods and Service Tax, Corporate Taxation, Inland Water Tourism, Water Literacy and Economics of Rain Water Harvesting, Farming and Farm Management.
