Biography
Dr. Jaya Thomas joined as Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmacology in May 2017. She received her PhD in Pharmacology from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi in 2016. Her PhD work was on exploring the role of pro-inflammatory cytokines and kynurenine pathway in various drug combinations of venlafaxine in animal models of depression. She completed her M-Pharm in Pharmacology in 2010 from College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medical College, Trivandrum, Kerala. She received Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from Council for Scientific and Industrial research (CSIR) in February 2012. She was also awarded BPS Bain Memorial Bursary grant by British Pharmacological Society to attend the conference “Pharmacology 2014” in December 2014.
