Biography
Dr. Kanakasabapathy received Ph.D in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. Dr. Sabapathy received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Applied Electronics (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. He secured first rank in his Bachelor degree as well as Masters degree from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Dr. P. Kanakasabapathy joined Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in June 2010 and he is presently Associate Professor. Earlier, he was a Research fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Madras during July 2006 to May 2010 and also Lecturer at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore during June 2001 to July 2006. Dr. Sabapathy's area of interest include Microgrids, Smart Grid, Power Electronics Application to Power Systems and Restructured Power Systems. He has to his credit 7 International/National Journals publications and 22 International/National Conference publications. He is guiding Ph.D research scholars and involved in Indo-EU sponsored research project and also research projects funded by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham etc. He has guided several B.Tech projects and M.Tech dissertations. He serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Smart Grids, Energy Conversion, Power Systems, Industrial Electronics, IET Transactions on Renewable Power Generation, Generation Transmission Distribution etc. He has also served as technical committee member and reviewer for many IEEE and other international conferences.
