Biography

Prashant S. joined as Lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Analysis at Amrita School of Pharmacy in February 2017. He completed his graduation in Pharmacy from Govt. Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in 2010 and finished his post graduation from National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali in 2012. His Master’s thesis research entitled ‘Exploration of Non-Shikimic Acid based synthetic routes for the Neuraminidase Inhibitor – Oseltamivir’ was under the guidance of Dr. Asit K Chakraborti (Head, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER). He had worked for 1 year in Ravi Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala (2013) before he joined as Senior Research Fellow in 2014 at Amrita Centre for Nanosciences under the guidance of Professor Dr. Manzoor K. and Dr. Krishnakumar Menon in an Indo Australian Biotechnology Fund, a collaborative project with Monash University, Australia. His ongoing PhD work is on ‘Nanoengineering of autoantigens for the prevention and treatment of autoimmune disease Multiple Sclerosis’.
