Biography

Today there is a global accreditation, comparison and ranking of universities according to the outcomes. A major share of the evaluation score is for high quality research globally recognized in prestigious journals and forums. This is based on the presumption that only best research can support best education. Such a development alone will help introduce application-oriented innovative inter-, trans-, cross-disciplinary subjects and courses that’ll be rare to find and make a mark on the quality of education. Having contributed significantly with about 250 international publications from a well-equipped research facility, I am keen to provide the University with excellent research facility to perform advanced research. Only with research exposure can students be made creative and innovative. Providing faculty and Dr. Sivanesan Subramanian Curriculum vitae 41 student-friendly atmosphere and ecosystem to readily access quality research will be my top priority in the futuristic development of education. I am keen about participatory development of an institution right from students to the administrative heads so that the products of the University are benefitted the most. Having served the Sports Board of Anna University as Chairman, Director and Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and served as HoD, Dean and Registrar i/c, I am fully aware of the effectiveness of such an approach on the basis that good health and mind will breed good development. However, to achieve this, one has to be highly imaginative and inventive to get appropriate resources. Funding is an important ingredient for this success. My ability to work with various national funding agencies and obtain handsome grants will come handy to propose the research potential of an institution and convince for major funding. Having spent long years on finding solutions for environmental issues on a variety of pollutions and having written 6 books my particular emphasis will be such that the education should be for societal relevance and environment conscious. Very importantly the students, staff and faculty will be actively involved in developing a green campus so that environmentally conscious worldclass model institution will be built collectively.
